LANZAROTE - Sidney the Kidney 2017
Overseas Supermarkets will be helping a charity called SIDNEY THE KIDNEY raise funds for their worthy cause.
Sidney the Kidney works to raise awareness of ADPKD (Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease) and raising funds for nephrology in the Canary Islands.
What is this all about?
Eddie Marsh is an English expat who has been living on the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands for the past 10 years.
On the 4th of April 2017 he was fortunate enough to receive a kidney transplant from a live donor, his Brother-in-Law Mark Laurie. It was on that fateful day that Sidney the Kidney was born!
Now, Eddie and his family and friends are raising funds to say a massive thank you to the incredible medical professionals of the Canary Islands who have looked after him as his kidneys slowly deteriorated and are continuing to look after him and monitor him now. Not to mention raising some awareness of ADPKD along the way!
To show the immense gratitude towards the incredible staff of the nephrology departments at both Arrecife General Hospital (Lanzarote) and the HUC Hospital (Tenerife) and as such are going to be raising funds over the next few months to not only say a massive thank you, but also to do a little something for those who are living with ADPKD or any form of kidney problem/disease.
